Welcome to Quiet Life Quilts and Crafts!
I'm so glad you're here
.

My quilting journey began in childhood. By the age of ten, I was stitching my very first quilt—and I’ve been in love with the art ever since. Though I consider myself primarily self-taught, the gentle guidance of my mom and the inherited “love of fabric DNA” from my granny deeply shaped my skills and my spirit. Their influence taught me to keep improving with each stitch, while also embracing the peace and presence (a Quiet Life) that comes from creating something by hand.

A deeper passion for crafting was sparked when my mom gifted me a bundle of unfinished quilts and quilt blocks from an estate sale. Holding those pieces, I couldn’t shake the feeling of sadness—knowing that the families they were intentioned for will never get to wrap themselves in the warmth those quilts were meant to hold. That simple gesture stirred something deep in me. I felt a calling—not just to complete those forgotten works of art, but to help others do the same. What began as a personal journey has grown into a purpose: to nurture creativity, build community, and help others discover confidence and joy through the quiet, heartfelt art of quilting and crafting.

I dove in, by first teaching friends and family. Later, I joined the teaching staff at Keep Me In Stitches, a beloved local quilt shop. I soon discovered the parellels of how the 19 joyful years of homeschooling my children—a journey that cultivated in me a heart for teaching — wasn’t so different from a quilt class setting: full of uniquely creative souls, each at different skill levels and with different dreams, but all sharing a common desire to make something meaningful with their hands. Each experience deepened my love of quilting and my commitment to helping others grow in their own creative journeys.

Since 2020, I branched out and began studing the art of fabric collage. As a Laura Heine Certified Instructor, I specialize in collage quilting—a joyful, expressive art form that invites freedom, imagination, and a touch of whimsy. I’m honored to be a recommended instructor by Laura herself, and even more honored to guide students through her unique techniques in a fun, welcoming environment. My goal is to ensure everyone learns new skills, as well as feel a sense of community and accomplishment.

Also, over the years,  I've been blessed to receive a few ribbons for my quilting, including a First Place Ribbon at the 2025 Florida State Fair. While that recognition was deeply meaningful, what truly keeps me going is the joy of creating, teaching, and sharing this craft with others. My greatest hope is to inspire others to follow their own creative paths—to discover the joy and confidence that quilting can bring. Ribbons are lovely, but nothing compares to the smile on someone's face when they receive a quilt or craft made with love.
